Renier van Deventer
In November 2025, Ridgeback Wines welcomed Renier van Deventer as Cellar Master, marking an exciting new chapter for the estate. As a graduate of Stellenbosch University, Renier brings extensive local and international experience, having worked in renowned wine regions including Napa Valley, Margaret River and New Zealand.
Most recently Cellar Master at Leopard’s Leap Family Vineyards, Renier is known for crafting wines that balance structure, purity and place. His philosophy, that exceptional wine begins in the vineyard, aligns naturally with Ridgeback’s commitment to producing wines of character from the unique terroir of Paarl.
